The IP blocks don't work because the IP range used is too great, and administrators are reluctant to block wide IP ranges for fear of disenfranchising other editors using the same range. Another option is talk page protection, but again administrators are reluctant to protect talk pages, as it prevents other IP and new editors from contributing. The third option is to remove any abusive posts, since removing abusive material, from your own user or other talk pages, is rarely a matter of concern. You certainly shouldn't respond. In this case, I'd be inclined to revert and ignore any abusive posts. The fourth option is a topic ban, which would need to be agreed at Wikipedia:Administrator's noticeboard. Any edit on the specified topic by a banned editor can be reverted or blanked without discussion. DrKiernan (talk) 08:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Just wanted to let you know the rants are continuing as is the harrassment. I tend to think your explanation is not complete. I have known whole schools with over one thousand possible editors with an IP address have been banned to prevent one or two editos using an IP address causing problems. Universities have also been banned. What we are dealing with here is one individual who is consistently making a mockery of wikipedia and its administrators. I think it is at least possible to ban him from a topic after he has consistently caused problems for administrators and fellow editors. You should be aware he sent me a message where he was openly mocking your inability to support Nishkid, yet again. Realise I am completely supportive of what you, with great patience, have tried to achieve on an ongoing basis. Finneganw 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Just thought I would give you some helpful advice. I know you are trying to be of great assistance at the Anna Anderson page. I think you need to be very careful when dealing with ChatNoir24. He is a highly irrational fanatical Anderson is Anastasia supporter. That can be clearly seen over a number of years of his entries both here and at other websites where he has been banned. He is always unreliable and pushes an inaccurate and unverifiable POV agenda. Don't be fooled by him as he rejects historical and scientific fact on the topic. Sadly the only one he fools is himself. Please tell the anonymous poster (75 IP) that he doesn't need to start a new topic every time he wants to say something when it all pertains to the same mental health issue. He loves to draw attention to himself and will make a new category every time he posts if you let him. Also, Finneganw is right about Chat, we are well experienced in dealing with him. Please do not take his word at face value, he is truly delusional and shouldn't be taken seriously enough to cause any validation or change in teh article. Most of what he says is twisted, POV and/or inaccurate. If you must have the 'other side's' input wait for bookworm, at least he/she is rational.Aggiebean (talk) 21:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

However, I noticed you posted publicly that you blocked user finneganw for disruptive editing, which you now know finneganw/aggiebean does repeatedly. May I call to your attention the "red" signature finneganw is now using to post at the page? finneganw has been warned repeatedly about this little trick, and has been ordered to stick with the proper "blue" signature.
