From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Arts University College at Bournemouth (AUCB) (previously known as The Arts Institute At Bournemouth, AIB), established in 1885 as a specialist institute, is now a university sector institution offering education in arts, design, media and performance.
The University College is actually situated in Poole in Dorset on the south coast of England.
The results of the 2007 National Student Survey confirmed the University College's status as one of the top specialists in the UK; student satisfaction was high and excellent ratings were given to quality of courses, assessment and feedback, personal development, learning resources, academic support and teaching.
In 2006 the Bournemouth Screen Academy was launched as a joint venture between the Arts University College at Bournemouth and Bournemouth University Media School and recognised as ‘Centre of Excellence’ in film education and training, one of only seven such institutions in the UK. In 2007 it became a Skillset Screen and Media Academy as one of Britain's key centres for filmmaking. Its Film Production BA enjoys an international reputation for excellence.
