[edit] Merging

No, I do not support merging with Financial transaction. Firstly, a Payment is part of but not all of a Financial transaction, the latter including other requirements such as legal rights and knowledge between the parties to be regarded as complete, or a transaction having being concluded. Secondly, it is important in building the knowledge base on Payments to provide for useful information which is often much more than the financial aspect - E.g. The flow of information, the use and emergence of various technologies, the societal implications of moving away from cash. Finally, a payment may be the transfer of wealth, but this does not necessarily mean financial wealth if one considers collaborative exercises where IP is transferred. No, I don't think this article should be merged with Financial transaction. Though I agree that a payment is technically speaking a financial transaction most of the times, it would be frustrating if a more generic and non-technical article does not exist here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.84.80.88 (talk) 19:27, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

I have undone a major deletion in this article, as there was no comment, I am assuming vandalism. The content seems to be unreferenced and borderline in value, but please discuss before deleting. BananaFiend (talk) 11:18, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
