Oulu Airport (IATA: OULICAO: EFOU) (Finnish: Oulun lentoasema) is located in the municipality of Oulunsalo, Finland, about 15 kilometres (9 mi) south-west of Oulu city centre. The airport is the second busiest in Finland after Helsinki-Vantaa airport, as measured by the number of passengers (839,950 in 2007)[1] and the amount of freight transported. There are more than a dozen daily flights to Helsinki. Oulu Airport is also extensively used by Finnish Air Forces for training purposes. Recently the old terminal was demolished for more apron space. A major extension of the main terminal (mainly jetbridges) is scheduled for 2009.[2] The managing body of the airport is Finavia.
