The New Chesterfield Stadium (tentative name) is a description of a proposed football stadium which would be built in the Whittington Moor area of Chesterfield, Derbyshire and will replace Saltergate as the home stadium of Chesterfield F.C..[1] The project has a planned opening date of 2010[2] after the club received planning permission from the Borough Council in July 2008 and the land was handed over in February 2009.[3] The stadium is intended to have a capacity of 10,000 spectators, and will be built alongside a Tesco supermarket, offices and a hotel.[4]
