[edit] Biography

Timár initially joined Argyle on loan from Ferencvárosi TC until the end of the 2006/07 season, with a view to a £100,000 permanent move at the end of the season, which was completed on May 16, 2007 along with countryman Péter Halmosi [1].

He made a great start to his loan period with a debut goal in the 2-2 draw with Wolves at Molineux and at 6 foot 3 inches he is certainly the beast that former manager Ian Holloway was looking for. [2]

He scored his second league goal for the club, a magnificent overhead scissor kick in a 3-0 victory versus Scunthorpe United on December 1, 2007. Since his arrival, Timár has become somewhat a cult hero, with his no-nonsense approach and 100% commitment endearing him greatly to the Argyle faithful. As a result, on April 26, 2008 Timár was voted as the club's Player of the Year by the fans. On 22 July 2008, Timár agreed a new 3 year contract, with the option of a 4th year with the club.

[edit] International career

Timár was called up for the Hungarian national football team for their match on March 26, 2008 against Slovenia. He made his long awaited international debut by starting the game for them.[3]
