Kiuruvesi is a town and municipality of Finland located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Northern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 9,377 (31 March 2009)[2] and covers an area of 1,422.9 square kilometres (549.4 sq mi) of which 94.79 km2 (36.60 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 7.06 inhabitants per square kilometre (18.3 /sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
