[edit] History
In July 2004 the Jamaica Rugby League Association was born. They fall loosely under the umbrella of the West Indies Rugby League Federation which was formed in 2003, although at this stage Jamaica are the only nation within the West Indies who are in a position to potentially play international matches as an individual nation. In 2005 a domestic competition was formed featuring five teams. Before the 2008 season this has grown to six teams.
In 2006 a Jamaican team made up of the best players from the competition played three matches against the Australia Police. Similarly at the start of 2008 the team played played the RAF, but lost 32-24.
[edit] 2008
Jamaica are hoping to make their international debut at the end of 2008, playing the United States in Kingston.
