The 6th German federal election, 1969, was conducted on September 28, 1969, to elect members to the Bundestag (lower house) of West Germany.

The SPD chose to leave the grand coalition with the CDU/CSU, forming a coalition with the FDP instead. Willy Brandt became the first SPD chancellor in the postwar period.
