Al Jazira Club (also spelled Al Jazeera Club, Arabic: نادي الجزيرة) is a sporting club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.Âl Jazira club is located in Al Muroor neighborhood in the capital Abu Dhabi.

On 19 March 1974, the club was officially established. It was formed when members of Al Khalidiyah Club (established 1969) and members of Al Bateen Club (established 1973) agreed to merge, forming a new club more spacious and capable of containing a bigger number of youth to practice their different hobbies in an educational atmosphere that enhanced the molding of hobbies and talents; where greater facilities would be available for creativeness and excellence.

The First board of directors was formed in 1974 with H. E. Mohammad Khalifa Al Kindi as chairman who maintained chairmanship till 1986, when H. H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan assumed chairmanship of the Board until 1992 passing it to his brother H. H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan who was himself a player in the Club’s football team along with his younger brother H. H. Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the current chairman of the Balling Federation.

H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Hamad Al Nahyan contributed in enhancing the administrative work in the Club for a long period through his contribution in the Supreme Sports Committee. Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammad Bin Buti assumed chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the Club between 1988 and 1994 succeeded by H. E. Khalfan Ghaith Al Muhairbi from 1995 to 1997 to be succeeded by H. E. Hamad Bin Mohammad Bin Brook between 1998 to 2000, when H. E. Buti Bin Mohammed Al Qubaisi, the previous centre forward of the club and member of the Board of Directors was appointed chairman of the Board of Directors from 2000 till date.

H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed AL Nahyan’s assuming the Honorary Chairmanship of the Club and Chairmanship of the Honorary Panel, along with H. H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as president of the Club and Vice Chairman of the Honorary Panel in addition to the close follow up, has had the most positive impact in molding and refining the technical and sport skills and consolidating them in the players. This is in addition to the most modern sport installations and facilities the First of which is Al Jazira Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.

As part of the Al Jazira Club’s future plans and projects, new branches of the club will be started in the Al Shawamikh, Al Bahya and Wathba areas to encourage the discovery of new talented players and add them to the club teams. These branches will provide training facilities nearer to players’ residences so they will not be required to travel daily to the club premises in Abu Dhabi.

The total cost of these three branches will be 60 million dirhams. Each branche will consist of a football field, volleyball and handball grounds, changing rooms for players, offices for management and training coaches and all other necessary facilities and utilities.

There is also a plan to build a nine storey residential building, comprising 36 residential flats for staff and several offices for management.

Al Jazira Club are constructing a new gym comprising of four floors for a variety of sports such as handball, volleyball, and basketball. The ground floor comprises a VIP entrance and lecture hall, offices, three changing rooms for players, a health club and a hall for weightlifting. The first floor contains 32 bedrooms as accommodation for club’s players and guests attending onsite training camps. The second floor comprises four changing rooms for players and two rooms for referees. The VIP platform is on the third floor with enough space for one hundred people in addition to a private majlis (reception hall). The fourth floor has a media centre, rooms for commentators and a supervision/monitoring room for the gym. The new gym is spacious enough for more than two thousand athletes. The Khalifa Al Muhairi Hall includes handball, volleyball, and basketball facilities with space for a thousand spectators. All the facilities required to host a major championships for any of these sports are also provided. Al Jazira Club also includes six secondary football pitches. Al Jazira Club also has an Olympic size swimming pool which is covered, air-conditioned and equipped with underwater cameras and music sets. It is large enough to fit four hundred people and has already successfully hosted a large number of local and foreign championships. The Club also contains a bowling hall with six alleys used for training the Club team as well as the National teams. It will be hosting the resident community’s championships in Abu Dhabi. In the Al Jazira Club there are three health clubs; the first is located separately near the swimming pool and includes a steam room, sauna, hot water basin, cold water basin and a jacuzzi, the second is located on the main platform for the first football team and the third is situated in the new hall and is used by the other teams of the club. Al Jazira Club has its own physiotherapy unit which is equipped with the most modern instruments and apparatus for the treatment of injuries. The specialists work under supervision of the Club’s doctor and are all well-trained to handle sports injuries. The club also includes 26 residentials flats for staff and trainers of the club and a restaurant equipped to serve one hundred people. The Al Jazira club home stadium is the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Jazeera Sports Club is one of the major sports clubs in the United Arab Emirates. It encompasses modern and numerous sports courts. It is also located in a convenient location downtown Abu Dhabi City. The club and its management is keen to provide the best levels of service to its members and visitors. Football: Deep History some local, regional and international clubs remain in the memory even if they are away from the podium of decoration. This is due to their long history and great achievements. Al Jazeera Club is one of such clubs because of its it great achievements on the level of other sportrs. Handball: Great Achievements Al Jazeera Club's handball team is one of the strogested teams not only in Abu Dhabi, but in the United Arab Emirates as whole. Since the establishment of the national handball associaition, out tean occupied an eminent status so that all the teams now consider it as one of the strongest opponets they ever have to face. The beginning of the achievements was in 1978/1979 season when the team won the national league championship, then in 1979/1980 season when it won the medal of excellence and then wins were successive in the following seasons until the 1990/1991 seaon when the tean won the Cup of H.H. Shl. Khalifa Al Nahyan and the men's general league. All such acievements indicate good future planning and clear vision of the club that reflects the achievements and champions obtained by the club. Volleyball Team: Deserved Champions As soon as the volleyball activities started in the club, Al jazeera announced itself as one of the powerful teams in the league and a school that graduates the champions of the game and a fierce oppponent in all the championships in different age groups. All over the past year, Al Jazeera was generous in providing extraorindary volleyball players who represented the base of our national volleyball team. Basketball Swimming Table Tennis: All-time Champions Table tennis team is one of the most successful teams not only on the club level but on the national and regional levels. This team won championships that made the name of Al Jazeera Club synonymous to table tennis. The club won the medal of excellence for six successive seasons that started on 1982/1983 season until 1987/1988 season. Bowling: Creation of a World Champion the wins of Al Jazeera Club in bowling reminds us with the international acievement of Mohammad Khalifa Al Quobaisi when he whon the world championship in 1988. he also managed to attain great achievements with his colleagues in the national team on both the regional and international levels. The bowling team in Al Jazeera was born as a champion and managed to occupy a prominents status among different clubs state-wide in the UAE and the GCC area. The team is led by Al Quobaisi and his colleagues, Holaiman Al Hamli, Ali Nasser, Tarik Al Mohanadi, Mohammad Nasser and Mohammad Abdulla, who are important pillars in our national teams. Remarkable Cultural and Social Activities: The management of the club did not focus its concern on sports activities only; however, it paid attention to cultural and social activities. The club issued "Al Jazeera" magazine on 15th of January, 1980, which is a sports semi-monthly magazine. The magazine attained remarkable success on the sports and social level nationally and on the level of GCC countries. It is a one-of-the-kind magazine.

Origins: As a reflection of its investment in the future of football in the Club and the UAE, Al Jazira established its Academy on 1 July 2004. Adjacent to the Stadium complex the Academy provides excellent education to students who are also talented Footballers. The Club’s concern with the educational and sporting potential of these young people is a core responsibility of Al Jazira in its position of as a major professional Club.

Al Jazira Branches & Affiliates: Through the establishment of nine branches at Bany Yas, Shahama , Bin Sina, Khalifa A, Al Marfaa, Al Shawamekh, Al Wathba, Al Bahia and Al Fugerah the Club seeks to ensure a smooth development of the talent of all its players from an early age at school, through the Football Academy and then to the First Team. In time our branches and affiliates will help to carry the Club vision to many other communities throughout the UAE.

As a major sporting club in the UAE, the Aljazira club believes it has a responsibility to grow the opportunity for children (and parents) to engage in healthy sport and physical activity.

The club is establishing the Al Jazira Sport and Health Foundation, a non-profit organization which seeks to improve the health, well-being and recreational activities of all people, but particularly children. Stakeholders will include Ministries of Education and Health, with specific outcomes of increasing the time and standard in physical education and fun activities in schools and communities.

The Club believes the establishment of the Al Jazira Sport and Health Foundation to be one of the most important steps it has taken in its history., The Health Foundation's main aim is to stress the importance of social initiative. Providing opportunities for the new generation, boys and girls, to learn through sports participation, the important values of; teamwork, loyalty, self-sacrifice, perseverance, and work ethics.
